We’ve previously worked with:
We ran the Share a Shoebox project for the first time in 2017. Our plan is, and always will be, simple. We’re asking anyone and everyone to fill shoeboxes, which can become gifts for women who may not otherwise receive anything special during the festive period, and then we take care of the rest.
The Share a Shoebox project supports women and brings people together to give.
So far, the boxes have been gifted to female refugees, women who are living in shelters after dealing with abuse and women living in homeless shelters. If you’ve had an idea of a group of women who may benefit from the Share a Shoebox project in 2019, please do get in touch. And check back here later in the year to get involved.
Any support you can give is appreciated.
sounds great, how do i take part?
>> step 1: find a shoebox (or we can provide one for you).
step 2: fill it up with gifts! Some items that the women would love are toiletries, make-up, chocolates, socks, books and accessories. Please avoid alcohol and electrical or Christmas themed items.
Please also bear in mind that all gifts should be new and all edible items should be wrapped and within their sellby dates. We recommend spending about £20 on your box so we can ensure consistency.
okay, i've got my box, now what do i do with it?
>> you are welcome to wrap it (lid and box separately please) in some snazzy wrapping paper, or Saz can wrap them for you (if you, like Laz, are a wrapping rookie)!
Drop at locations in Balham, Greenwich or Southwark, or we can pick them up from you in various London based locations. Get in contact to co-ordinate!
Deadline: midnight Saturday 1st December ‘18
then what happens?
>> we will deliver them to Women for Refugee Women on the week, and will keep you updated on the journey of all the boxes on our website and social media.
If you would like to help us deliver boxes to W4RW, lend us your wrapping skills or help spread the word, get in touch!
